Somewhere between La Crosse and Eau Claire, this warning light appeared on PER1NE's dashboard, advising me that I am due for a service in 9800 miles. While it's good to know that I am due for a service in twelve months, the notice does strike me as a bit of overkill. But thanks for the heads up, guys.

German engineers have taken a person's propensity to procrastinate into consideration. It's based on the size of the driver's gluteus maximus multiplied by bodyweight. The average Übermensch gets a warning at about 500 miles.
I'd say PER1NE is trying to tell you to stay away from the deep-fried Cheese Curds.
