A few stragglers are still drifting in but it fills this office with unspeakable pride and not a small amount of joy to see this year's leader board eclipse the half-century mark. You are all proud of a rich and enduring tradition that many of you have already passed on to your progeny. I applaud each and every one of you. You're all winners in my book.
The 2012 tourney has officially kicked off at Wildcat Arena, where the underachieving River Falls Wildcats are at this very moment hosting the very cooly named Spooner Rails. The visitors are led by the 1-2 punch of twenty goal scorers Tanner Vik and Brandon Schutt while River Falls has a small but alarmingly devoted group of fans who dress like Ukrainian firemen defending a karaoke title (see above).
Stand by for scores, ladies and gentlemen. And thanks for making my life worth living again, at least for the next two weeks.
